The situation in Syria remains dire as Assad’s military continues its siege of Homs and Hama as the body count is now over 3,500. Assad’s trying to crush the rebellion, even as his military/security forces are starting to see deserters in significant numbers joining with the protesters.

Those who are deserting are urging those soldiers remaining to lay down their arms or join up with the opposition because they’re killing their fellow Syrians.

So much for the Arab League deal, which wasn’t worth the paper it was written on.
